The Shiden 11b “Otsu” was different from the 11a “Kotsu” with its revised wing weapons. The 20mm cannons were changed to the belt-fed Mark 4, with all four cannons contained in its main wings. As a result, the cannon pods under the main wings were removed, giving the Shiden a sleek silhouette. Also, the belt-fed mechanism allowed it to hold more rounds, which increased from 400 to 600-800. The Genzan Air Group unit is best known for the operation of the Shiden “Otsu,” which operated in combat missions and escort/support for Kamikaze suicide attack planes.
Molded in gray and clear plastic, and includes decals.
