Description

This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

As used by the Swiss Air Force, the Bf109E-3a had its nose machine gun changed from a pair of 7.92mm MG17s arranged side-by-side to a pair of Swiss-made 7.5mm MG29s, also arranged side-by-side. The shape of the machine gun ballistic groove on the cowling was changed; the machine gun inside the main wing was changed from a pair of 20mm MG FF to a pair of Oerlikon 20mm machine guns. The sight is a REVI type 3, and the grip of the control stick is a scoop type; other levers in the cockpit were changed as well. It was also equipped with a signal flare launcher at the rear of the fuselage.

Wings Kit’s model kit of the Bf109E-3a includes a newly molded fuselage and weapons to reproduce the type used by the Swiss Air Force; the control surfaces are separate parts. The panel lines and rivet marks on the surface of the fuselage are delicately molded, and the cockpit is precisely expressed using photo-etched parts.
