The Ilyushin Il-76 is a large military transport aircraft developed by the Soviet Union’s Ilyushin Design Bureau, and its NATO code name is “Candid.” The Il-76MF is an improved version of the Il-76M, with its engines replaced with four Solovyov PS-90s with a takeoff thrust of 16,000kg; the fuselage has also been extended by 6.6 meters, increasing the maximum takeoff weight to 210 tons and the payload to 60 tons. After a prototype flew in 1995, two were built for the Jordanian Air Force, but production was discontinued due to lack of orders. These two aircraft were subsequently sold by Jordan to Egypt.
