This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
Pit-Road advertises this kit as “the first tooling of a model of the F-35B,” and indeed it is! Previous kits have always been of the X-35 experimental demonstrator. While tiny, this model gives us optional parts for VTOL and “normal” configurations, plus open and closed weapons bays and extended or retracted landing gear. Decals are given for the first flying prototype as well as Japanese national insignia for a “what if” model (as Japan is not currently committed to buying the type).
