This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.

The Blue Angels are the U.S. Navy’s world-renowned aerobatic team. The team was founded in 1946, and are based at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. The pilots’ high skills are shown to the world through demonstration flights using advanced piloting techniques. The Blue Angels in particular are known for flying in such dense formations that they could almost touch each other with arms outstretched, and they attract many spectators at their exhibition flights. The aircraft used was the main fighter aircraft of that era. The first aircraft to be used was the F6F, and the Hornet was used from 1986. Until 2010, they used the early model F/A-18A/B, from 2011 they used the C/D model, and from 2021 they used the E/F Super Hornet. The aircraft’s blue coloring with yellow lines makes them really stand out in performance, and the team has been highly praised for its heart-stopping exhibition flights not only in the United States, but also in countries around the world! The 2023 season attracted more attention than usual, as the first female pilot, Captain Amanda Lee, joined the team.

This model kit of the F/A-18E Super Hornet from Platz features parts made by Dragon for an attractive sharp finish and realistic reproduction of the Super Hornet’s characteristic shape.
