The Mirage F1 is a jet fighter that has been deployed and operated as the main fighter aircraft of the French Air Force since 1973. It was developed as a tailless delta-wing aircraft, but this version sports a horizontal tail. The Mirage has become a pivotal part of the air forces of many nations besides France; France retired the Mirage F1 in 2014, but it has recently begun serving as a mock-aggressor aircraft used by the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy’s “Top Gun” fighter pilot schools.
This is the only model of the Mirage series of aircraft featuring its horizontal stabilizer; decals by Cartograf are included to mark it as one of the mock-aggressor aircraft used in the Top Gun fighter pilot schools.
