This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
After years — nay, decades — of slogging along with the Airfix kit (still a darn good kit, but…), large-scale modelers are no doubt rejoicing at this all-new 1/24 Hurricane. While the Spitfire may be more popular, it can be argued that the Hurricane did more for England in the early war period than its more famous rival. This kit features a fully detailed cockpit with photo-etched parts for the belts and other details, photo film instrument panel dials, complete engine and firewall assembly visible through nose panels molded in clear plastic (or they can be painted and left off), detailed wheel and gun bays, separate control surfaces that, while not movable, can be easily posed as you desire while building, and clear light lenses and bulbs. The wingtip navigation lights are possibly the first time I have ever seen these done as they really were, with separate bulbs under clear aerodynamic covers. The canopy is posable in the open or closed positions. Decals are for V6864 “DT A” of 257 Sq. and “A LK” of 87 Sq., both in 1940.
