1/32 MiG-3

Description

This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.

Trumpeter continues their 1/32 series with the MiG-3. Basically, this kit is a 1/48 kit that has been made 150% bigger. The overall level of detail is nice, but there is plenty of room left for superdetailers! A decent cockpit is provided, but the lack of seatbelts will be noticeable in this scale. Rivet detail on the landing gear doors and horizontal stabilizers is a little overdone, but nothing Mr. Surfacer can’t fix. In a nice touch, rubber tires have been discarded in favor of separate injected ones, which will make painting easier and remove those “meltdown” worries. Decals are provided for two versions: dark green over gray summer camo and white over gray winter camo. The exterior painting instructions call out Model master and Gunze colors, unfortunately no such help is provided for all the rest of the (rather generic) painting instructions! Still, those who really want to have a 1/32 MiG-3 on their shelves probably have enough resources already to hand.
