The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch is a multi-purpose aircraft used by the Wehrmacht for reconnaissance, observation, and rescue of wounded soldiers. Although it is not fast, it has high STOL (short takeoff and landing) performance, and was used on all fronts, including the famous Mussolini rescue operation. The C-3 is a multi-purpose variant developed from the tridentate communication version (C-1) and the two-seat observation version (C-2).
