This is an injection-plastic aircraft model kit.
Tamiya’s 1975 Lancaster kit sees the light of day for the first time in years. Though the kit is showing its age (all surface detail is raised, and there are some fit and accuracy problems), it’s quite buildable and a good modeler can turn this into a spectacular creation. This version comes with four crew figures and all the special ordnance and fuselage parts needed to model either one of the famous “Dambusters” planes, or the modified Lancaster carrying a 22,000lb. “Grand Slam” weapon. Markings are provided for two different No. 617 Squadron aircraft, and to allow modeling of any of the Dambusters’ planes. The standard version has also been reissued (linked below).
