The C.561 was a speed-competition aircraft that recorded a top speed of 550km/h in 1936; it was the last racing aircraft made by Caudron. It was equipped with an inverted V-type 12-cylinder engine and a newly designed fuselage with an integrated canopy; the C.460’s main wing, horizontal stabilizer and landing gear were diverted. Later on, a C.710 fighter was developed based on this aircraft.
