TheMitsubishi Ki-46 III Type 100 Command Recon Plane, known to the Allies as “Dinah,” featured a beautifully streamlined body for reduced air resistance, equipped with two 1,500hp Mitsubishi engines. The reconnaissance version could reach altitudes of 10,000 meters, and had a range of up to 4,000km when using additional fuel tanks; it was also the fastest Japanese military aircraft at a top speed of 630km/h. These attributes gave it superior performance and allowed it to penetrate deep behind enemy lines.
