The fighter squadrons of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force gather and compete in an actual battle format in a tactical competition, also known as a battle competition. The elite pilots of each corps are selected, and aircraft with special paint and markings will appear; as can be expected, model kits of aircraft that take part in these competitions are very popular. The F-1 support fighter of the 6th Squadron attracted attention for its brilliant paint and markings for the 1996 version of the competition. The vertical stabilizer is marked with Chinese characters expressing a determination to win, and this kit brilliantly reproduces the appearance of the five aircraft that won the F-1 category. A resin pilot figure that fits into the cockpit is also included! The cockpit canopy can be opened or closed, and weapons unique to support fighters such as the domestic anti-ship missile ASM-1 are included too.
