This is an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
Though it looks almost the same as the previous Su-27P, the Su-28 SM is efficiently equipped with new technologies developed with Su-35/37 demonstrators, to enforce its avionics. Modified IRST is offset in right to enlarge perspective from the cockpit. Instruments are totally renewed into a “glass cockpit.” Engines are converted to the more reliable and powerful AL-31F-M1s. Still used as one of the main fighters of the Russian Air Force, Su-27SMs are stationed on littoral air bases of the Black Sea, between Russia and NATO.
From Platz comes this new boxing of the Su-27SM Flanker B in 1/72nd scale! This kit features plastic parts manufactured by Zvezda with decals printed by Cartograf. Markings for this kit are to build a Su-27 with the unique camouflage scheme as seen on the aircraft stationed in the Black Seas coastal area (and as shown in the image above).
