This is a 1/72 scale model of the U.K. Spitfire MK. IX, which was put into production prior to the MKs VII and VIII. Although the MK IX’s airframe was not as strong or as aerodynamic with its movements, when compared to the modified control surfaces of the MK VII and the MK VIII, the MK IX proved to be a great and effective counter to the Focke Wulf Fw 190.
The Model Kit 999 series is a plastic model that uses an adhesive that allows for easy assembly of parts. The base color of the model allows for it to be easily colored, which can then be finished off with the decals provided within the kit.
