Following the transition of the new coronavirus infection to category 5, many events are now being held on a regular scale in Japan, and various aviation events, including the Self-Defense Forces’ Air Festival, are bustling with activity in various regions.
This month’s issue focuses on such autumn aviation event season.
In addition to the air festivals at Misawa and Komatsu Air Bases of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, this month’s issue features the Fukushima Airport Air Day Festival, featuring the Blue Impulse and aerobatic pilot Yoshihide Muroya, and also reports on Muroya’s Blue Impulse experience boarding.
In addition, an interview with the new pilot of the U.S. Air Force Misawa Air Base F-16 demo team is introduced, and overseas news includes an introduction of the Taiwan Air Force’s acrobatics team, the Thunder Tigers, the Abbotsford Air Show in Canada, and the Battle of Britain Air Show in the UK.
